Several new amenities were added for the Public's enjoyment. New features also include the ecologically improved storm water pond in which nearly 115 acres of urban runoff drain, prior to reaching Boca Ciega Bay. Eighteen Bald Cypress trees were added to the park, along with a nature Boardwalk and walking trail. The Tangerine Avenue Parkway is a historic location where the trolley once ran between St. Petersburg and Gulfport. There are future plans to redevelop the Parkway.
